1717 Innovation Center
A tobacco warehouse turned startup incubator — visited days before renovation began.
About 1717 Innovation Center
Richmond businessmen Will Loving and Brad Cummings developed a 36,000-square-foot, five-story former tobacco warehouse at 1717 E. Cary Street in Shockoe Bottom into an incubator for startup businesses, modeled on hubs like Washington's 1776.
The idea: gather promising entrepreneurial companies together with the organizations that help them grow, including RichTech, the Venture Forum and Lighthouse Labs. Encorepreneur! visited — our 29th venue — just days before renovation began.
Description adapted from encorepreneur! event announcements.
