“While you weren't looking, Richmond got cool.” — Frommer's
About Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU
Located at Belvidere and Broad, the VCU Institute for Contemporary Art opened in 2018 to rave reviews. It anchors VCU's top-ranked art school and exhibits local and international art.
The $41 million museum was named one of the most anticipated buildings of 2018 by Architectural Digest. It has two fronts — a soaring Broad Street atrium with glass walls and a sweeping staircase, and a garden side with a reflecting pool that opens to the university — symbolizing openness to both city and campus.
